National Museum of Turkmenistan

The museum has collected more than 166 thousand unique exhibits, including items discovered by archaeologists at the excavations of the medieval city of Nyssa, ancient Merv and other historical monuments of Turkmenistan. The museum's funds and special departments hold rich collections of famous handmade Turkmen carpets, precious metal products, national clothes, traditional household items, embroidery, ceramics.

Also recently, the Museum of the President of Turkmenistan was opened in the building of the National Museum. It contains extensive documentary and photo materials that reflect the recent history of the country. A special department is dedicated to the life and work of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
