Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts is one of the largest repositories of national values of Turkmenistan. The museum contains works by both famous and novice Russian painters, graphic artists, sculptors, ceramics and jewelers. The museum's collections feature all kinds of genres, styles and trends of modern fine and applied art. The museum also presents products of folk decorative and applied art, samples of traditional national costume, household items of the XIX-XX centuries. The best examples of female terracotta statuettes and unique stone sculptures of animals are kept here, as well as stone vessels with relief drawings and ornamental frescoes that decorated residential houses and sanctuaries of the ancient inhabitants of Yilgynly were restored by the hands of restorers from St. Petersburg.
